Who am I?

About Me

My name is Michael Fierman and I am a fly fishing guide and professional fly tyer based in Salt Lake City, Utah. I am originally from Birmingham, Alabama. I grew up fishing lakes for bass and bream as well as fishing in the salt for whatever would take my fly. With 13 years of experience on Utah waters with a fly rod in hand, I have honed my skills to become a proficient guide. My focus is not only on sharing the art of fly fishing but also on fostering a deep appreciation for the nature we have access to with individuals willing to embark on this enriching hobby. Fly fishing has undoubtedly transformed my life, and my goal is to introduce others to this rewarding activity that offers much more than catching fish.

When I am off the water, my focus is on my family. I have 4 kids and an incredible wife who make my fly fishing dreams possible. Balancing the demands of guiding trips and tying flies with being present for my loved ones is a top priority. Family time is cherished, providing a grounding force amidst the ever-moving currents of the fishing world.
